Holiness is Inherent For the Authentic Christian Life – Benny Shobo

Reading Time: 2 minutes

It is clearly written in the Bible, in Hebrews 11:14, “without Holiness, no person will see God”.  Holiness in a simplified definition simply means separation unto God through consecrations. In other words, it means making a deliberate and conscious decision to shun the world and all worldliness, and wholeheartedly cling unto the righteous nature and perfect ways of God Almighty. When we live holy lives, we reflect God’s nature, which is demonstrated through our characters by the circumcision of our hearts.

The Holy Spirit in our lives is the divine secret to us living a life of holiness and righteousness. God is holy and all His ways are pure. As a result of this truth about God, in order for us to serve God faithfully as God expects us to, we indisputably need the Person of the Holy Spirit to enable us obey the commandments and ordinances of God. 1 Peter 1:16,“For it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Holiness is beyond a state of mind or consciousness; holiness is a nature, a lifestyle. It means that we put on Jesus Christ and thereby become Christ conscious in all senses of the word. Holiness gives validation to our authentic relationship with God. Through sanctification we are made holy unto God through the redeeming Blood of Jesus Christ , and by the power of the Holy Spirit. 1 Peter 2:9, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light”.

Holiness is a mighty weapon for the Believers in Christ Jesus, especially in these end-times. 1 John 5:18, “We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them”. Holiness ignites and fuels our prayers and prayer life with power. Through Holiness, purity birthed in our prayers, enabling us not to pray amiss. When we live holy lives before God and mankind, our prayers generate much power that causes dynamic changes in and through our lives.
