We worship God in many ways and one of those ways, is through our dressings amongst our lifestyles, possessions and praises. There are three main garments that are highly recognised and are worn by all in Heaven. These garments are worn for different occasions to worship God the Father. Some of these garments are simple while the others are elaborate and elegantly decorated; but they are all pure and radiant in degrees, to the glory of God.
The Three Garments in Heaven
1. The Garment of Salvation
2. The Garment of Praise
3. The Robe of Righteousness
The Garment of Salvation: This is garment worn by all in Heaven, and awaits those who have surrendered their lives to Jesus, and made Him their Lord and Saviour of their lives. This garment is white in colour and are for those who have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ; and whose names are written in the Book of Life. It is for those who have partaken of the birth, death, burial, resurrection and glorification of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 61:10 tell us ” I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels”.
Here are some scriptural verses that gives us greater insight.
Revelation 3:5, 18 “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels . . . I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see”.
Revelation 6:9-11, “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true , dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled”.
The Garment of Praise: This Garment, is worn by the citizens of Heaven on special occasions to worship in the presence of God. This garment radiates the glory of the Father, because He delights in the praises of His beloved people, (Psalms 147:11).This garment, radiates brighter that the Garment of Salvation and is elegantly designed and decorated.
Here are some scriptures that gives us better understanding of the Garment of Praise.
Revelation 19:16 “On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords”.
Psalm 45:7″You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions”.
Hebrews 13:15 “Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name
The Garment of Righteousness: This is the most radiant and highly decorated garments worn by the saints in Heaven. They are worn by great and righteous men and women, who lived righteously and faithfully on earth. Revelation 19:8, “It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints”. These garments shines the brightest and are prepared for all those who have done great and mighty works for the increment of God’s kingdom. These garments are prepared for those who whilst on the earth, overcame, conquered and brought many souls to the kingdom of Heaven, in spite of great the many challenges and vigorous/ rigid persecutions by the enemy(the devil)
Here are some of the scriptures that gives us more understanding on the Garment of Righteousness.
Job 29:14 “I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; My justice was like a robe and a turban.
Isaiah 61:10, “I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Zechariah 3:1, 3-4: And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And he answered and spoke unto those that stood before him, saying,’ Take away the filthy garments from him’. And unto him he said, ‘Behold, I have removed you iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes’.
