The Question is WHY??? – by Benny Shobo

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Have you ever wondered what is the purpose and essence of your life?

Have you ever pondered about the empty void in your life?

If yes, then the answer is plain and simple……

We are beings created by God for a unique purpose and to live a meaningful life. The empty and lonely void in our lives will never go away no matter what we do or what we fill our lives with. The reason for this, is because only the Creator can give meaning to the creation. Genesis1:1-31.

When a scientist creates a robot, he alone knows exactly how that robot operates and what it requires to operate in its full capacity. The robot on the other hand being the creation and not the creator, will not be able to do anything on its own, without fully relying on its maker for its every function. That is how it is with us(creation) and God(Creator). God is a Spirit and so are we. We are all spirit beings who have souls and live-in bodies.

We need God more than we realise and without God, we will not be able to live in the capacity of our existence. When God is given the opportunity through His only Son, Jesus Christ, He will come into your life and fill up the void, thereby giving your life a meaning. “John 14:6, Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Although we have bodies, the body without the spirit is dead and the spirit without the body can not legally operate on earth. It can also be compared in the same way as a bottle and milk, the milk needs the bottle to bear its contents and give it shape and the bottle needs the milk to have an identity and value. What you are is only one thing, who you are is what gives essence to what you are.

You were created by God for a definitive purpose and sent to the earth to achieve this unique purpose. Your God given purpose will keep you alive on earth until such a time when you will have to leave the earth and return to God, fulfilled or unfulfilled. Knowing this unique purpose, means that you will have to know God, acknowledge Him and live for Him. You bear the responsibility of seeking God and accepting Him, He knows you and is patient for you to acknowledge Him as the ultimate God. The way to know Him is by accepting Jesus as the Son of God, who came in the flesh to reconcile us to God by dying on the cross. He was crucified, buried and on the third day rose again. He is now in heaven with the Father God awaiting the return of all who repented from their sins and accepted Him as their Lord and Saviour. “John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son and who so ever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”.

For example, at work when your boss sends you on an errand, he expects you to carry it out successfully and diligently. After you have delivered on the errand successfully, he will reward you for your obedience and effectiveness. But, if on the other hand you did not perform the boss’s request adequately and on time, surely, the boss will be disappointed and not reward you, and my even go on to punish you for your defiance. This same principle applies with God and us. God expects us to live a godly and not a rebellious life while we are on the earth.

Some people may choose not to believe the existence of God, but I will encourage you to sincerely ask Him, to prove to you that He is real and that He sent Jesus to the world to die for your sins, to reconcile you back to Him. God is ever so faithful; He will respond to you. How can you fairly judge a book from its cover alone, without reading its contents? Also, how would you be able to tell if a soup is sweet and not bitter without first tasting it. Therefore, do not be quick to dismiss the existence of God, without first giving Him the opportunity to prove to you that He is real. Until you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, the essence of your life will never be truly significant, meaningful and fulfilled.

The question now is, ” Would you like to accept the love of God, His Son Jesus as your Lord and Saviour??? “.

If yes, please say this prayer aloud:

Dear Jesus, I realised that I need you in my life. I am sincerely sorry for living my life without you. Please forgive me for all my sins. Come into my heart and cleanse me with your redeeming blood. Henceforth, I choose to make You my Lord and Saviour, in Jesus name! Amen.
